Principal Jim Saxton says the school met with the local police gang task force which recommended the rules. Police say the rules are intended to create an environment where gang conflict is less likely. Students claim the rules unfairly target Hispanics.

Lee deputies catch fugitive in Boca Grande 
The Lee County Sheriff deputies captured 20-year-old Kurt Douglas Ficocelli. He had a gun in his possession at the time of the arrest. Detectives are continuing with their investigation and a final determination of criminal charges will be released as soon as it is made available to us.
